If you can’t afford to pay someone less than $10.00 an hour, then you don’t have a profitable business. This isn’t China–we’re a free people here.

If minimum wage is lower in another state, Michigan, is at a disadvantage. If I raise minimum wage to $50/hour in Michigan, then it is illegal to hire a worker who’s labor is worth less than $50/hour to the company. This also means that companies in other states will be able to hire worker for much less, and cause Michigan businesses to go under.

Minimum wage actually discriminates against the very people it is trying to protect.

If they do not have any work, they will not pay you anything anyway. If there is a demand for labor the company will pay minimum wage and pass the price onto the consumer. I am majoring in economics but I think anybody could have told you that.
